Addendum #2: Four Relevant Links for the First Day of the Fourth Month

These are the times that try our sense of humor. So, here are a few of my favorite short bits of humor that relate to literature, argument, or communication.

  1. Monty Python’’s Argument Clinic (How not to argue and a great illustration of what we don’t want students to do.): Script & Youtube clip
  2. A class policy on cell phones that goes horribly wrong–or so it would seem.
  3. Studies show that pickles are dangerous
  4. Here’s a strategy for making great literature more engaging: Penguin Now! (You might want to use this strategy the next time you feel pressure to make your English class more engaging. I suspect other disciplines might adapt the strategy for non-fiction too!)

Onward!
